For the last Apprentice Wars Challenge the apprentices visited Caterpillar to try they hand a engineering. Using the state of the art facilities the team had to complete 3 engineering tasks including correctly connecting a electrical circuit and fitting part of a exhaust.

September 10th, 2010Today our teams were set a Marketing challenge by Real Radio to create a jingle for the breakfast show. After a quick chat about what they needed to do, the teams set about picking imaginary guests and competitions which included a sleepover with The Saturday’s and a interview with the stereophonics (The Boys) and a trip to the Maldives and a dinner date with Cheryl Cole (The girls). Apprenticeship Wars Day 3
September 9th, 2010Day 3 saw our teams visit City of Sunderland College’s Hilton centre to take part in a plastering task. The teams split into groups of two and while one half of the team worked on plastering the wall the other two created a decorative plaster mould.

September 9th, 2010Day 2 of Apprentice Wars and we’re at the Novus Business Centre for an Admin task. First task is a dictation task voiced by one of the Real Radio legends Bernie Slaven, The task proved difficult for both Team Lisa and Team Gary. Why don’t you have a go and let us know how you do!!!

September 9th, 2010Day one of Apprentice Wars and for today’s challenge we visited East Durham College to test our new apprentices skills at hair and beauty. Team Lisa ( Leanne, Louise and Chloe) and Team Gary (Matty, Peter and Liam) go head to head to find out who the best at curling hair and applying makeup. Apprentice Dog Groomer
Do you like animals? If so we are currently searching for animal lovers to fill an apprentice Dog Groomer Vacancy. The apprenticeship requires you are confident in handling both Dogs and Cats, but no previously experience is necessary.
The Employer is based at Peterlee and requires an apprentice to work 32hrs per week (Tuesday to Saturday), as an employed status apprentice you will earn £95 per week and study towards a NVQ level 2 or 3.
Apprentice Chef
Are you an aspiring Chef? If so we are searching for an apprentice for a busy local pub. The Employer is based at Running Waters in Durham and requires an apprentice to work 32hrs per week (5 days out of 7). Due to the location of the business you must have your own transport. As an employed status apprentice you will earn £95 per week and study towards a NVQ level 2 or 3.
Apprentice Catering Assistant
We are looking for an apprentice Catering Assistant to be based in Easington. The employer requires you to work 32hrs per week (days to be arranged). As an employed status apprentice you will earn £95 per week and study towards a NVQ level 2 or 3.
Apprentice Painter & Decorator
